Physical Therapy Aide (PT Aide)

This course prepares students to assist in a physical Therapy Practice.  It introduces students to the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes for success in the field of physical therapy at the aide level.  It combines independent learning from a textbook, online work, and experience in a clinical setting with a physical therapist. Content includes terminology, clerical skills, technical and therapeutic methods and the role and responsibilities of members of the physical therapy team.

• Prerequisite: Fundamentals for Health Professions (with 80% or higher grade)
• Junior/Senior only
• One high school credit
• One period, one semester (Fall or Spring)
• On line (worktext) class with 40 hours of clinical (outside of class time)
